The UEFA Referees Committee has announced the referees for the Champions League matchday 1 fixture between Dynamo (Kyiv) and Rubin (Kazan, Russia).
The game will be handled by Alain Hamer from Luxembourg. A bank manager from the town of Waldbillig, he was awarded his FIFA badge in 1993. In addition to covering league games in his homeland, Hamer also experienced domestic football in France and Belgium.
The 43-year-old official will be accompanied by three compatriots – assistant referees François Mangen and Christian Holtgen. The fourth official will be Albert Toussaint. Janis Mežeckis from Latvia and Kyros Georgiou from Cyprus will act as UEFA delegate and UEFA referee observer, respectively.
