The game saw the return of Artem Kravets, who had been having backaches for a few days. The young attacker had two good chances to give the team an early lead. First, his missed the target after receiving a cross from Michael. In three minutes, he showed some good individual display, yet failed to score after a good one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper.
The White-Blues carried on with their initiative in the second half. They could have taken a lead in the 69th minute, but the referee ruled offside. Kravets soon had his next chance, but Russia junior international goalkeeper coped with the work perfectly.
