Dynamo Kyiv confirmed first place in the Ukrainian Premier League table with a 4-0 home success against FC Karpaty. However, the Lviv players have once again proved to be difficult opponents for the White-Blues.
Karpaty did not look inferior against strong opposition and played attractive attacking football but were unable to deal with intense first-half pressure from the hosts. Two goals and a penalty kick from Artem Milevskyy, Ismaël Bangoura and Oleksandr Aliyev respectively gave Yuriy Semin’s side a first-half lead. Firstly, in the 18th minute, Milevskyy scored the opener and seven minutes later his strike partner Bangoura repeated the trick to put the hosts in front. Aliyev's penalty a minute into first-half added time extended his team's advantage while Bangoura’s 53rd-minute strike became the last of the evening.
On Wednesday Dynamo will face FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League Group G fixture. The match promises to be a thrilling duel. All football fans are invited to support their favourite football team.
