Before the departure to Odesa, where the Ukrainian Super Cup against FC Shakhtar Donetsk takes place on July 21, FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach and players had a meeting with journalists at the training complex conference hall.
The reason for this event was presentation of Dynamo newcomers. Ukrainian fans and media know Olexandr Andriyevskyi pretty well, but Brazilians got a large portion of attention.
Olexandr KHATSKEVYCH:
- Olexandr Andriyevskyi has eventually become Dynamo rightful player. He featured for other teams on loan quite successfully and got the Europa League experience performing for FC Zoria Luhansk. Today he totally meets our demands. I’m glad he proves he deserves being Dynamo player.
As for Tche Tche, we followed him for a while. We needed a midfielder that has a good first pass. He also meets our demands. The only problem so far is language barrier. He’s a communicative guy and I hope he’ll demonstrate football we want to see. Still everyone needs time for adaptation.
Sidcley joined us as we were finishing the training camp. His strengths are working capacity and good final pass. We should work on his fitness, but soon you’ll see what he’s capable of. I’m glad to see him and other guys in our team.
After the short ceremony of shirts presentation players answered journalists’ questions:
Olexandr ANDRIYEVSKYI (#18):
- I’d like to thank coaches, who believe in me. I’m glad to be in this club and I want to succeed with Dynamo.
- What do you think of the period you spent featuring on loan?
- It was positive for me. My task was to gain experience and I think I have.
- Dynamo have a lot of good midfielders. Will you cope with the competition?
- It’s good to have competition for starting spot in the team. Tche Tche is a really good performer. It will be great to play alongside him.
TCHE TCHE (#6):
- I’m really happy I’ll perform for Dynamo. I think soon I’ll adapt to the team and demonstrate my strengths. I hope I’ll help Dynamo win the domestic league and succeed in euro cups.
- Are you ready for Ukrainian winter?
- I think I’ll get used to it.
- How did teammates greet you?
- I’m a cheerful person, but we have language barrier so far. Still I’ve already made friends with many teammates. I use some English words and they understand me.
- Are you ready for competition for the starting spot?
- Dynamo have always had good midfielders. Competition helps players make headway.
SIDCLEY (#17):
- I’m really glad to wear Dynamo colors. I know the history of the club and many players that used to perform in Kyiv. I hope I’ll demonstrate my best football soon.
- Do you know it’s cold in winter in Kyiv?
- According to other guys that used to play in Kyiv, it’s not that bad. I think we’ll cope with that.
- Which is your favourite position on the field?
- Left back.
