Artem HROMOV: “I told Rebrov: “If I have to, I’ll walk to Kyiv!”

Artem HROMOV: “I told Rebrov: “If I have to, I’ll walk to Kyiv!”

- Artem, what emotions did you experience signing the contract with Dynamo? What are your expectations of this step in your career?

- What emotions could I have joining the top club?! Of course they were positive! I want to succeed with my new team, gladden fans and satisfy coach’s expectations.

- When did you find out Dynamo got interested in you? Did you have other variants for your career continuation?

- Before the match Dynamo vs Vorskla Serhiy Rebrov and Raul Riancho came up to me and asked if I wanted to join the White-Blues. I answered that I would walk to Kyiv if necessary (laughing). After that my agent took care of everything.

As for other variants… Could I even ponder them if I had an offer from FC Dynamo Kyiv?! In winter I got an offer from FC Dinamo Moscow. Anyway I would never go there.

- What are your strengths? Which position is your favorite one?

- I feel most comfortable playing as left winger. Still I can also perform on the right flank. As for my strengths – I don’t want to praise myself. I just can say that I must work hard.

- What kind of injuries did you have in spring?

- At first I tore the hip posterior surface, then I got thick and then once again… I was among first eleven only four times in spring and made one more substitute appearance – against Dynamo.

- You were born in Stryi, but went in for football after you moved to Poltava. Who was your first coach?

- That was Stanislav Basiuk, sports school coach. Later I had different coaches. In 2007 I signed the contract with FC Vorskla Poltava.

- Which coach has had the most significant influence on you?

- It’s hard to say as each of them taught me something special. Working under the charge of Vasyl Sachko I got an offer from FC Dynamo Kyiv. Mykola Pavlov let me join the main squad. He let me play. I’m thankful to him.

- What are your expectations of work under the charge of Serhiy Rebrov?
- I don’t know him personally yet. Still I think he’s a good person and high profile specialist. I hope we’ll find common ground.

- Do you like game model Dynamo use nowadays?

- It’s very difficult to oppose Dynamo. It’s absolutely clear they work on tactics a lot. I’ll need some time for adaptation, but I believe I’ll get used to game model coach will use.

- You already have two caps to your name. Will transfer to Dynamo help you become Ukraine first team regular?

- It depends upon how I’ll play. FC Zoria Luhansk players have proved that everyone has a chance.

- Did you support Dynamo when a kid?

- Sure! Every boy that liked football had posters with Andriy Shevchenko (laughing). My father’s friend knows Oleh Luzhnyi. Once Luzhnyi brought me Dynamo magazine signed by Andriy Shevchenko. I was very proud.

- What are your ambitions and future plans?

- I want to win every game with Dynamo.
