Dynamo’s two-year winless streak vs. Vorskla has finally been broken, with the game itself, however, being far from a joy to behold.
The opening minutes were promising some thrilling action and things might even have gone a different way for the Ukrainian title holders, but Dzhurichic failed to net the ball into the empty goal. On the contrary, Dynamo’s Bangoura converted Rotan’s cross into an opener and this night’s only goal.
Soon, there was a chance for Diogo Rincón, who made a mistake from a good position, and for Glavina and Kravchenko, but the first was rejected by the goalie Rybka and the latter missed the target.
Further into the first half, the visiting squad carried on committing errors. Milevskyy’s shot was sufficient only to reach the crossbar, and then Bangoura did not make use of two good chances.
In the second half the White-Blues seemed to seize initiative, only for it to last ten minutes or so and produce poor results. The attacks subsided and if there was any attacking effort, it was cut before the players could make their way into the box. The closing minutes saw nothing but a string of fouls, bookings and combating. For Dynamo it is the third consecutive narrow victory, which can not but alarm…
