- After the Super Cup you were dissatisfied with your midfield. What about today?
- We still have big claims to creativeness. Sydorchuk fulfills great amount of work, but it’s inadmissible to make so many mistakes when we switch from defense to attack. Shepelev has done pretty well. He’s scored and got an assist to his name.
Still supporting midfielders have a lot of duties when opponents defend. They must unfold and direct our attacks. We’ve been working for only four weeks, so we can’t get rid of these crosses so far… We ask the team to play between lines and use long balls, but guys still try to use short passes. Anyway, that will change gradually. Today we did better than against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
- Has direction of the club set particular goals in the Champions League considering that the final will take place in Kyiv? Do you have any demands concerning lineup enforcement?
- We’d love to reach so far, but our primary goal is to reach the group stage. We already know the team we’ll face and we’re gathering information. Still we have one more UPL game to play before that match. After July 22 we’ll focus on BSC Young Boys.
As for transfers, we don’t deny we’re still looking for left back. We test different variants. In the first game Antunes didn’t do well. Today we tried Vida, but we’re still searching. As for strikers, Moraes can perform in the Champions League. He’s in good physical conditions, but unfortunately he lacks game practice. Artem Kravets is reconditioning.
- You substitute Harmash in the second game in a row. Are you dissatisfied with his play?
- In this game we wanted to test Tsyhankov in this position. As for Denys, it seems he moves a lot, but discipline is above all on the field. He plays too close to striker. I’ve told him that player in his position mustn’t leave much space in the midfield. So far he doesn’t meet my demands in terms of discipline.
- Mbokani is the first team regular at the moment. Is he better than other forwards?
- At the moment he looks better than others. Kravets missed the training camp, Besedin is still quite “raw”, Moraes can’t play due to suspension. I don’t think a lot will change in three days we have till the game against Shakhtar. Mbokani looks really more confident than other strikers.
- Your first domestic game in new position was at the stadium that means a lot to you. What do you feel? Are you looking forward for the debut at the NSC Olimpiyskyi?
- First of all I’m looking forward to the first home match with our fans at the stadium. Games behind closed doors resemble friendlies. Anyway, we’ve got thee points and now we can start getting ready for the match against Shakhtar.
