FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Shakhtar Donetsk at the NSC Olimpiyskyi in the UPL matchday 3 game.

Both sides won two previous domestic league fixtures, but the White-Blues weren’t in the best mood before this game as they lost the Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge KV away – 0:1. Olexandr Khatskevych made four substitutions in the starting lineup comparing to that match. Shepelev, de Pena, Tsyhankov and Rodrigues replaced Verbic, Karavayev, Buialskyi and Besedin.

Early in the game home side attempted mostly from distance, but unsuccessfully. After several missed opportunities, visitors opened the score. Solomon put a low cross into the box and Moraes hit the far bottom corner.

Then Shakhtar could double their lead, but Marlos hit the post.

The White-Blues equalized shortly before the break. Piatov parried the shot from distance by Harmash, but Rodrigues was there and headed the ball in. Firs goal of our newcomer for Dynamo!

After the break Taison had a good chance, but Boiko saved our team. Kyivans responded with the opportunity for Verbic. Kedziora put a cross from the right side, but Benjamin missed the target.

65 minutes into the game Marlos eluded de Pena in front of Dynamo penalty area and hit the target with a help of small rebound.

So, Shakhtar gain revenge for defeat in the Ukrainian Super Cup.
