FC Dynamo Kyiv have defeated FC Chornomorets Odesa at Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi in the UPL matchday 1 game – 2:1.
The match was played behind closed doors, but fans supported the White-Blues from Mariyinskyi park.
The game was a sight for sore eyes! Dynamo keep changing and adopting ideas of new coach. Still 13 minutes into the match home side made the battle more intriguing as they let visitors open the score. Khoblenko hit the target.
Anyway, in several minutes Harmash found Shepelev inside the box with a great cross and Volodymyr netted the ball.
This goal made Dynamo more confident. Mbokani, Harmash and Gonzalez had good chances, but Yarmolenko was the one who scored shortly before the break. He hit the bottom corner from 23-meter distance!
After the break visitors tried to attack, but their keeper Bezruk still had a lot of work. Moroziuk and Shepelev hit the woodwork. 73 minutes into the game Kapliyenko got second booking and was sent off.
So, Dynamo start the UPL season with victory.
