FC Dynamo Kyiv faced SL Benfica in Lisbon within the Champions League group stage matchday 4.
Home side gaffer Rui Vitoria picked the same first eleven that won in Kyiv two weeks ago while Serhiy Rebrov changed half of the starting lineup.
Benfica took the game under control at once. Their active pressure resulted in Dynamo mistakes and yellow cards for Gonzalez and Moroziuk very quickly.
Anyway halfway through the first half the White-Blues started creating chances. At first Moraes dispossessed Benfica player, rushed forward and found Gonzalez, whose shot was blocked by defender. After that Kyivans took a corner, Gonzalez passed to Vida, but Domagoj missed with a header.
Still several mistakes late in the first half resulted in Benfica goal. After cross from the right flank Vida fouled inside the box, referee awarded penalty for the Eagles and Salvio converted from the spot.
Early in the second half Guedes hit the bar from distance.
Soon home side players got less aggressive and visitors almost used that. 69 minutes into the game Ederson fouled against Gonzalez inside the box, referee awarded penalty for Dynamo, but Benfica keeper parried Moraes’ shot.
After four matchdays Dynamo are lacking five points behind Besiktas JK and six points behind SSC Napoli and SL Benfica.
