FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted Maccabi Tel Aviv FC within the Champions League group stage matchday 6.
To qualify for the knock-out stage the White-Blues had to win.
Dynamo took the game under control, but didn’t rush forward at once. 12 minutes into the game Moraes unleashed a good shot form inside the box, but Maccabi keeper cleared the ball.
Still in several minutes later Kyivans opened the score. Serhiy Rybalka put a cross into the penalty area, Maccabi defender almost netted own goal and hit the post and then Denys Harmash scored.
18 minutes into the game Serhiy Rebrov had to make the first substitution as the White-Blues leader Andriy Yarmolenko picked up and injury.
Early in the second half Harmash could make the score 2:0 after cross from the left flank, but missed.
By the way, visitors had fans at the stadium, who supported them quite actively.
It’s difficult to overestimate this victory. Dynamo reach the Champions League knock-out stage for the first time since 1998/1999 season!
