FC Dynamo Kyiv have defeated FC Porto away within the Champions League group stage matchday 5 – 2:0!
It was one of the most important games of the season for our team. To have a chance to get out of the group Serhiy Rebrov’s men needed only victory.
Home side started the game actively, but soon Kyivans changed the situation on the field. It turned out that Porto aren’t scary at all. The White-Blues had their first great chance after Yarmolenko put a cross into the box, Harmash hit the post with a header and then Moraes missed the open goal. Six minutes later Imbula fouled against Rybalka inside the box, referee awarded penalty from Dynamo and Yarmolenko converted from the spot!
After the break visitors didn’t change their tactics. Kyivans tried to finish every attack with a shot. Eventually Gonzales eluded two opponents, unleashed the shot from inside the penalty area, Casillas didn’t clear the ball properly and let it cross the goal line.
One mustn’t underestimate Porto. The Dragons attacked desperately and hit the woodwork twice… Still Dynamo were unstoppable.
After this victory the White-Blues must defeat Maccabi Tel Aviv FC at the NSC Olimpiyskyi to get out of the group!
