Another Ukrainian “clasico” took place at the Arena-Lviv and attracted much attention.
There was full house at the stadium. FC Shakhtar Donetsk were formally the home side, but fans mostly supported FC Dynamo Kyiv.
Less than three days before this fixture the White-Blues played really exhausting game against ACF Fiorentina.
Comparing with the match in Florence there were only two substitutions in Kyivans’ starting lineup. Dragovic replaced Danilo Silva and Sydorchuk featured instead of Buialskyi.
Both sides started the game actively. 18 minutes into the match Dynamo had a very good scoring opportunity. Artem Kravets missed in one-on-one situation. Luiz Adriano had similar chance, but Olexandr Shovkovskyi saved our team.
Right after the break Yarmolenko rushed into the penalty area, passed to Belhanda, Younes found Lens, but Jeremain sent the ball over the bar.
The outcome of the game is goalless draw, which has strategic importance for Serhiy Rebrov’s men.
