FC Dynamo Kyiv UPL matchday 17 fixture against FC Illichivets Mariupol had a certain subtext.
Visitors didn’t lose in the second part of the season until this game and were going to deliver the league leaders a battle.
The match took place not at the NSC Olimpiyskyi, but at Dynamo club arena. Last time it hosted the White-Blues Premier League game in December of 2011.
Illichivets head coach Mykola Pavlov used 4-5-1 formation. Halchuk was keeping the goal, Zubkov and Yavorskyi played as centre backs while Matveyev and Vovkodav – as laterals. Valulenko and Valeyev were supporting midfielders, Shevchuk and Zhychykov – wingers. Matiazh featured as second forward and Hryn was the finisher.
As for Dynamo, it’s very always difficult to predict their starting lineup this season. This time following performers were chosen:
The game
Visitors won a corner two minutes into the game. Home side responded with Belhanda’s header that made Halchuk nervous.
The White-Blues started applying serious pressure halfway through the first half. Kravets could have finished the combination with the participation of Miguel and Yarmolenko more effectively.
Eventually Matveyev handled the ball inside the box, referee awarded penalty and Yarmolenko converted from the spot. It was his 10th goal of the season in the UPL.
Pavlov’s men could score the equalizer five minutes later. They took a corner, Rybka cleared the ball, Valeyev obtained it and unleashed a good volley, but Dragovic saved his team.
In the second half Dynamo had serious advantage after own goal netted by Zubkov.
The third goal was scored by Yarmolenko and the fourth – by Teodorczyk.
Finally the fabulous shot by Antunes made fans stand up.
Danilo Silva got two assists to his name.
The outcome of the game is Kyivans’ lopsided victory – 5:0!
