FC Dynamo Kyiv went to Aalborg as group J leaders. The White-Blues played twice in this city before that and won both times – 1:3 and 1:2.
This time Aalborg BK broke with this tradition. Kent Nielsen’s men used counterattacks very effectively.
Kyivans had the same starting lineup as in the game against FC Steaua București. Home side opened the score 17 minutes into the match as Enevoldsen used the mistake of Aleksandar Dragovic and hit the bottom corner from 17-meter distance.
Four minutes later active Andriy Yarmolenko hit the post! Right before the break Thomsen doubled the score after assist from Bruhn.
In the second half Serhiy Rebrov tried to change the situation for better. Yarmolenko, Danilo Silva, Teodorczyk unleashed good shots, but failed to score… In a stoppage time Frederiksen eluded two opponents, but a low cross into the box and Thomsen netted his second goal of the game.

Dynamo: to improve European rating
A couple of seasons ago Dynamo were 23rd in UEFA club rating, but today they are 31st.
This year performances in the Europa League give fans reasons for optimism and let them believe that Serhiy Rebrov’s men can improve their position in rankings.
The team started the group stage very confidently. At first the White-Blues flattened Rio Ave FC away (3:0) and then they defeated FC Steaua București at the NSC Olimpiyskyi (3:1). This season Dynamo unbeaten streak includes 13 matches already (11 victories).
It should be also mentioned that Kyivans won three out of four euro cups fixtures against Aalborg and only one game ended in a draw.
Speaking about Dynamo injured performers, they still are Dieumerci Mbokani, Yevhen Makarenko and Denys Harmash.
Aalborg: problems with fight on two fronts
Aalborg football club was founded on May 1 1885. Last season they won the Danish Superliga after five-year break. At the moment they are 228th in UEFA ranking.
This season Aalborg don’t look impressively in euro cups. The start of European campaign was encouraging. Kent Nielsen’s men outplayed GNK Dinamo Zagreb within the Champions League third qualifying round, but after that they were defeated by Apollon Limassol and thus didn’t reach the group stage.
In the first Europa League match Aalborg were hammered by FC Steaua București – 6:0.
After that Danish side managed to pull out victory against Rio Ave FC – 1:0.
As for domestic league it’s already quite clear that Dynamo forthcoming opponent won’t defend the title. At the moment they are 8th in standings with 12 points after 11 matchdays.
As for Aalborg losses, injured forwards Lukas Spalvis, Rasmus Jönsson and Patrick Kristensen and defender Jakob Ahlmann should be mentioned first of all. It’s also questionable whether halfback Frederik Børsting will take the field.
Battle arena
The forthcoming match will take place on October 23 at Nordjyske Arena.
The stadium was built in 1960 and reconstructed in 2002.
It has a capacity or 13,997, but at euro cups fixtures it is reduced to 10,500 seats.
Aalborg home arena hosted Denmark national team matches six times.
