Ukrainian League

The White-Blues faced FC Metalurh Zaporizhia away within the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 13.

Comparing with the previous game against FC Karpaty Lviv (0:0) Dynamo coaching staff made four substitutions in the starting lineup. Olexandr Shovkovskyi was keeping the goal. Miguel took the place of suspended Serhiy Sydorchuk while Andriy Yarmolenko played as right winger instead of Oleh Husiev. Artem Kravets was Kyivans’ only finisher. It should be mentioned that Dieumerci Mbokani was on the players’ list for the first time in 2014/15 UPL.

Dynamo took control over the game right after the starting whistle. Yarmolenko and Lens were active on their flanks putting crosses into the box.

Shortly before the break Yarmolenko hit the target after assist from Lens.

Early in the second half home side scored the equalizer. Platon netted the ball after pass from Pashayev.

The White-Blues rushed forward again. They got their nose in front rather quickly. Vida snagged the pass in the midfield, played to Lens’s feet and Jeremain hit the bottom corner in one-on-one situation.

Several minutes later Younes Belhanda found Miguel inside the penalty area, Portuguese halfback unleashed a shot and the ball crossed the line after rebound.

It seemed that Dynamo would follow the game to its logical end easily, but home side had another opinion. Platon took the free kick and performed a straight pass to Orelesi, who scored from 13-meter distance.

After that Bezus and Mbokani made substitute appearances. Both performers had scoring chances, but goalkeeper parried Roman’s shot and Dieumerci lost the ball and didn’t manage to create one-on-one situation. Several seconds before the time Danilo Silva put a cross into the box and Jeremain Lens hit the target due to another rebound.

At the moment Dynamo are the UPL leaders. FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk are lacking three points behind Kyivans and FC Shakhtar Donetsk – five.

On November 23 FC Dynamo Kyiv will face FC Metalurh Zaporizhia away within the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 13.

The game will start at 19:30 at Slavutych Arena.

Dynamo: there can be no underestimation

In the previous UPL match against FC Karpaty Lviv Dynamo finished the winning run that included six domestic league fixtures.

Still after the draw against Lviv side Kyivans’ head coach Serhiy Rebrov stated: “We’ve lost points, but I’m sure we are on the right track”.

The White-Blues performers, who weren’t called up to their national teams, used the two-week pause in the UPL for everyday training session and sparing against amateur team FC Kolos Kovalivka (2:1 for Dynamo). Miguel Veloso and Dieumerci Mbokani scored for Kyivans.

Dynamo started getting ready for the game against FC Metalurh Zaporizhia purposefully on November 20 when internationals rejoined the team. “All performers have returned from their national teams’ camps in fine fettle. Everyone is willing to win every game we are still to play this year. We realize how seriously Metalurh are getting ready for the match against us, so we won’t underestimate our opponent”, - informed assistant coach Serhiy Fedorov.

It should be mentioned that Artem Kravets, who suffered eyelid cut in the game against Karpaty, works with no restrictions. So do Aleksandar Dragovićand Olexandr Shovkovskyi. Andriy Yarmolenko has caught cold.

Serhiy Sydorchuk will skip the forthcoming game due to suspension.

Metalurh: new coach, same results

It seems that Metalurh haven’t made conclusions after the last season and this year results they demonstrate are also unimpressive. At the moment they have nine points.

After the goalless draw against FC Chornomorets Odesa within the UPL matchday 11 Metalurh head coach Oleh Taran was fired and Olexandr Tomakh took charge of the team, but it turned out that… he doesn’t have a license, which could let him be at the bench.

Anyway the appointment of new manager didn’t let Metalurh avoid 3:0 home defeat against FC Zoria Luhansk in the previous match.
