FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Karpaty Lviv within the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 12. This was the second game of the week for the White-Blues, so Serhiy Rebrov made three substitutions in the starting lineup comparing with exhausting fixture against Aalborg BK.
Olexandr Rybka was keeping the goal as Olexandr Shovkovskyi has picked up an injury. Jeremain Lens and Lukasz Teodorczyk replaced Andriy Yarmolenko and Artem Kravets.
Dynamo controlled the game in the first half, but created few chances. Serhiy Sydorchuk had the only real scoring opportunity 28 minutes into the match, but Karpaty keeper Mysak cleared his shot after pass from Younes Belhanda.
After the break Mykyta Burda took the field instead of Yevhen Khacheridi. Lviv side totally focused on defense.
Early in the second half the White-Blues had some good chances. Rybalka took the free kick from 25-meter distance, but goalkeeper coped with his shot. 63 minutes into the game Vida, Sydorchuk and Dragović could score in the same attack, but visitors’ defender and Mysak saved their team.
Five minutes later the key episode of the match happened. Vida, Burda and Kravets ran into each other in Karpaty penalty area. Domagoj continued the game. Mykyta appeared on the pitch in several minutes with his head bandaged. Artem couldn’t keep playing as his face was seriously hurt.
Dynamo couldn’t make substitutions any more, so Serhiy Rebrov’s men featured outnumbered, besides three minutes before the time Sydorchuk got the second booking. Still visitors didn’t create a lot of chances after that. Dynamo had a scoring opportunity in a stoppage time. Yarmolenko took the free kick, but the ball went over the bar…

Karpaty: to start not with zero, but with minus
This week Karpaty became the UPL main outsider as they were deprived of six points according to the Football Federation of Ukraine control and disciplinary committee decision. Now they have “-1” point.
Of course that can have a negative impact upon the Green-Whites psychological state. On the other hand they have no backing space and maybe they’ll have more passion to win.
Anyway Lviv side demonstrated unimpressive results even before disciplinary punishments this season: two victories, two draws and six defeats with goal difference 10:17.
The best striker of the team is Gregor Balažic with four goals to his name.
