Dynamo: to win long-awaited trophy
Dynamo last UPL match could have been skipped as FC Illichivets Mariupol couldn’t host the game in their city.
Still the president of our club Ihor Surkis paid for Mariupol side flight to Kyiv and staying at the hotel in order to let the match take place at the NSC Olimpiyskyi.
The game was useful for Dynamo as players had a possibility to try new tactical schemes. Still it wasn’t easy to do as Kyivans played outnumbered after Yevhen Makarenko was sent off early in the game.
Open training session at Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi was also important for performers. Serhiy Rebrov stated that players needed to get some positive energy from supporters before the important match.
The forthcoming game will be the first duel for Dynamo caretaker manager against experienced Mircea Lucescu.
The White-Blues centre back Yevhen Khacheridi won’t feature in the final. It’s also not clear whether Oleh Husiev will take the field.
Shakhtar: the moist important competition
Mircea Lucescu can’t definitely count upon suspended Ilsinho and injured Yaroslav Rakytskyi.
Shakhtar way to the final wasn’t really difficult, but in the semifinal Donetsk side unexpectedly faced difficulties as they performed against FC Slavutych Cherkasy. They managed to score three, but only in extra-time.
This season Shakhtar had some problems as Fernandinho and Mkhitaryan left the team. Still Lucescu’s men eventually won the title.
Anyway Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov has stated that this season triumph in Ukrainian Cup is more important for him than success in the UPL.
