FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Shakhtar Donetsk at the NSC Olimpiyskyi within the UPL matchday 19.
Comparing to the last match Oleh Blokhin could count on Vukojevic and Belhanda. Younes started the game at the bench and Ognjen played in the midfield alongside Denys Harmash and Serhiy Sydorchuk.
Aleksandar Dragovic also was among first eleven. He featured as centre back together with Domagoj Vida. Danilo Silva and Yevhen Makarenko traditionally played as wing backs.
Jeremain Lens and Andriy Yarmolenko were wingers and Dieumerci Mbokani – finisher.
Game aspects
Visitors created first scoring chance early in the game. Taison hit the net on the outside.
Several minutes later Ilsinho found Taison with a long ball, Brazilian put through a combination with Adriano and Luiz hit the bottom corner – 0:1…
Second goal was the result of the White-Blues mistake. Domagoj Vida tried to clear the ball, but hit Douglas Costa. After that Adriano obtained the ball and scored.
Belhanda took the field instead of Sydorchuk before the break. Younes created a chance for Makarenko immediately, but Piatov parried Yevhen’s shot.
In the second half Dynamo performed more actively. Oleh Husiev and Brown Ideye made substitute appearances.
Anyway Shakhtar win by two goals to nil and Dynamo chances for Premiership become minimal.
Key episode
Second goal conceded by Dynamo made the win of our team improbable.
Top person
Key player of the game was Shakhtar forward Luiz Adriano.

Dynamo: moment of truth
Dynamo had a great chance to approach leaders in the last matchday. In case of win against FC Karpaty they would have got over Shakhtar in standings if they defeated Donetsk side.
Still Kyivans played in a draw against Lviv side away.
Thus the White-Blues are to win against their direct competitor in battle for Premiership. And even if they manage to do that they won’t gain leadership.
Anyway players and coaches are in for real Ukrainian derby.
Oleh Blokhin is to keep solving squad problems. Khacheridi won’t take the field against Shakhtar. It’s also questionable whether Dragovic will.
On the other hand Ognjen Vukojevic and Younes Belhanda will have an opportunity to play as their suspension is over.
Shakhtar: unusual lack of stability
It seemed that Shakhtar got over the loss against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk as Mircea Lucescu’s men defeated FC Metalist Kharkiv and FC Karpaty Lviv. Still another unpleasant surprise was waiting for Donetsk side in the game against FC Vorskla Poltava.
Now win against Dynamo will be the only satisfactory result for Donetsk side.
According to Mircea Lucescu the main reasons for lack of stability in results demonstrated by his team are disorderly play, inexperienced performers and absence of true leaders.
Shakhtar skipper Darijo Srna has informed: “This defeat has devastated us. I think we’ve made a bit step back in battle for the title”.
Unlike Dynamo Shakhtar don’t have many injured players. Still it should be mentioned that Fred will skip the match against Kyivans because of suspension.
Balance of wins against Shakhtar is still for the White-Blues
Dynamo have already faced Shakhtar 44 times. Kyivans won 18 of these matches, lost 14 and played in a draw 12 times.
In Kyiv Dynamo won 13 games, lost three and five more matches ended in a draw.
