FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Illichivets Mariupol within the UPL matchday 29. Though Mykola Pavlov’s men were officially the home side the game took place in Kyiv at the NSC Olimpiyskyi behind closed doors because of the situation in Mariupol.
Serhiy Rebrov changed the starting lineup comparing to the previous match. Olexandr Rybka was keeping the goal, Domagoj Vida performed instead of injured Oleh Husiev while Ognjen Vukojevic, Roman Bezus, Vladyslav Kalytvyntsev and Brown Ideye replaced Denys Harmash, Younes Belhanda, Jeremain Lens and Dieumerci Mbokani.
Game aspects
Dynamo started the game actively. 13 minutes into the match Serhiy Rebrov’s men opened the score. Yarmolenko passed to Vida, who eluded Hrechyshkin and put a low cross into the box. Ognjen Vukojevic hit the bottom corner with one touch shot.
A minute later referee sent off Kyivans left back Yevhen Makarenko for desperate foul against Kulach.
After that the White-Blues started playing more for defense, but still Illichivets didn’t create scoring chances.
After the break Jeremain Lens made a substitute appearance as Rebrov decided to let Yarmolenko have rest before the Ukrainian Cup final. Ten minutes before the time Dutch halfback could score in one-on-one situation, but Mariupol side keeper Halchuk fouled against him. Referee awarded penalty for Dynamo and Brown Ideye converted from the spot.
Illichivets could score in a stoppage time, but Kulach hit the bar at close range.

On May 11 FC Dynamo Kyiv will face FC Illichivets Mariupol within the UPL matchday 29.
Around the match
Though Illichivets are officially home side the game will take place at the NSC Olimpiyskyi because of the situation in Mariupol.
It has been also decided that the UPL fixtures will be played behind closed doors.
Mykola Pavlov’s men faced difficulties leaving their city, but eventually they arrived in Kyiv on May 10.
Dynamo: thinking about cup final
There’s no doubt that the most important match for the White-Blues late in this season will be the Ukrainian Cup final against FC Shakhtar Donetsk. Still it’s also necessary to play properly in the UPL as Kyivans still have a chance to struggle for medals.
In their previous match Serhiy Rebrov’s men flattened FC Chornomorets Odesa, who play really well for defense this season.
Serhiy Sydorchuk and Lukman Haruna won’t take the field against Illichivets as they are suspended.

At the moment Mykola Pavlov’s men are 10th in the UPL standings.
After three victories in a row Illichivets couldn’t win in three games in succession.
