FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Chornomorets Odesa away within the UPL matchday 20.

The White-Blues won their previous game against FC Vorskla Poltava and maybe that’s why Serhiy Rebrov made only one substitution in the starting lineup – Jeremain Lens took the field instead of Oleh Husiev.

Game aspects

Four days ago Chornomorets directed a lot of efforts to defeat FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, but still they managed to recondition by the match against Kyivans.

Dynamo started the game actively, but didn’t create scoring chances. Yarmolenko and Harmash put several crosses into the box and Makarenko unleashed a long-range shot.

18 minutes into the match Odesa side defender found Antonov with a long ball. Olexiy entered the penalty area and hit the far bottom corner – 1:0.

It should be mentioned that even though Dynamo had to equalize the White-Blues didn’t hurry.

In the second half Oleh Husiev and Brown Ideye took the field.

Chornomorets kept defending very orderly. Still two minutes before the time Yevhen Makarenko went to the length of shot from inside the box and hit the upper V – 1:1.

Next time Kyivans will face Hryhorchuk’s men on May 7 within the Ukrainian Cup.

Key episode

Half an hour before the time two Dynamo attacking players took the field. If Domagoj Vida used his scoring chance right after that Kyivans would have had more time to pull out the victory. Unfortunately his header wasn’t a success.

Dynamo: remembering about honour and prestige

Dynamo are going through difficult period because of the change of the head coach. After Oleh Blokhin’s resignation Serhiy Rebrov took charge of the team. On one hand young specialist has been given a free hand as Dynamo don’t have ambitious aims this season any more. On the other hand one should remember about honour, prestige and supporters’ attitude. Besides Kyivans still have a chance to win the Ukrainian Cup.

Serhiy Rebrov, who never worked on his own, has got a serious challenge. It’s very important for him to finish current season worthy.

Rebrov’s debut as caretaker manager wasn’t easy though it turned out to be a success. Dynamo pulled the victory against FC Vorskla Poltava. That’s really important that players were supporting their coach and trying to help him.

As for injured performers, Yevhen Khacheridi keeps recovering. Miguel is almost ready to rejoin the team. Besides Rebrov can count on Lukman Haruna, who skipper the previous match for family reasons.

Chornomorets: to hold the position

At the moment Odesa side are fifth in the UPL standings lacking only two points behind FC Metalist Kharkiv. Chornomorets must be in good mood as they defeated FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the previous game.

Chornomorets have conceded only 18 goals in 23 matchdays which is the best result in the UPL at the moment. On the other hand they’ve scored only 25.

The forthcoming match will be also interesting because Roman Hryhorchuk is one of those coaches media bring into contract with the White-Blues.

Balance of face-to-face matches

Dynamo faced Chornomorets 25 time within the UPL (W-26, D-5, L-4, goal difference – 79-27).
