FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Vladyslav Kabayev has commented upon the win against Partizan in the Champions League qualifier (6:2).
- Emotions subsided immediately after the final whistle. We were getting ready for this game, we understood who we were playing against. We realized that this club supports the war in Ukraine. I think the fans both in the stadium and by the TV screens saw the emotions with which we stepped on the field. And even after scoring three or four goals we didn’t stop, we pressed, we wanted to give at least a little bit of positive emotions to all the fans, all our Defenders.
- Dynamo win 6:2 in the first game of the season. How’s that possible?
- We had a good training camp. Besides, we had a good stimulus – a Serbian team. Speaking for myself, I was very angry when taking the field. I didn’t care who scores. We had to win at any cost. It would have been even better if we didn’t concede, so we have things to work on.
- Did the conceded goal impact the team?
- Generally we were doing well even despite that silly penalty. We had chances, pressed. I didn’t have any doubts we would come back eventually. When we equalized Partizan lost the spirit while Yarmolenko motivated us to keep going. Thus we managed to score more before the break.
In the second half Partizan maintained possession sometimes, but we continued scoring. There’s still the second let and I would like to say more, but I guess I’ll do it after the game in Belgrade.
