Dynamo in the first part of UPL season: analytics and statistics

Football in Ukraine is on a winter break, so it’s time to analyze FC Dynamo Kyiv first part of the season based on wyscout statistics.

General data

17 matchdays out of 30 have been played in the Ukrainian Premier League, but Dynamo have played only 14. In terms of the points lost they share the first place with Shakhtar.

The White-Blues went on winter break being 5th in the league table. Dynamo won 9 games out of 14, played in a draw once and lost 4 times.

Goals

Having played less games than almost all opponents (Zoria also played 14), Dynamo are the most goalscoring team of the league with 33 goals.

It should be mentioned that Kyiv side xG matches this figure and makes 33,7. In this regard Dynamo are also the league leaders.

In terms of xG against (expected conceded goals) Dynamo are second after Dnipro-1 – 14,3. Speaking about actual conceded goals (18), the White-Blues share the 6-7th place with LNZ.

In terms of possession Dynamo are the third best team of the league with 55,4%. On average, the team maintained possession of 16,8 seconds straight.

As for dribbling, Dynamo are seventh – 23,16 per game in average, but the effectiveness of those is one of the best in the league – 62% of successful dribbling attempts.

Dynamo interceptions statistics is one of the worst in the league – 30,97 per game. Only Chornomorets have less.
